[ARCHIVED] Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

CERT Logo Castle Hills NEW Class Nov 2015.jpg

The Castle Hills Fire Department in conjunction with the Bexar County office of Emergency Management will be conducting a CERT training class and we are searching for eager volunteers. CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. We currently have 10 members actively involved, but are looking to expand.

Using training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT volunteers can assist others in their community following a disaster when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT volunteers are also encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking an active role in emergency preparedness projects. Detailed information can be found on the web at: http://www.fema.gov/community-emergency-response-teams.

Class Dates: 5 consecutive Wednesday Evenings Beginning Apr 13 and concluding May 10th. Class times on Wednesdays would be 6 -10 pm. We will be teaming up with Leon Valley Fire Department and alternating classes between Castle Hills and Leon Valley. We need a minimum of 12 to hold the class.
