CADIDATES ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

      1. MUST be a United States Citizen 
      2. MUST be at least 18 years or older on the commencement of the term filed at the election.
      3. MUST be a registered voter of the City of Castle Hills as of the filing deadline.
      4. MUST have resided continuously in Texas for twelve (12) months the City for six months (6) immediately preceding the filing deadline.
      5. MUST NOT have been determined mentally incapacitated by final judgement of a court.
      6. MUST NOT have been convicted of a felony (unless pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities). 
      7. MUST satisfy any other requirement prescribed by law for the office.

General Election Information

The City of Castle Hills conducts its regular elections for City Council on the first Saturday in May of each year.  The positions on the Council are elected in the following order:

Voter Eligibility Information

To cast a ballot in a city election, you must be both eligible to vote and registered to vote.  Persons are generally eligible to vote if:

    • They reside within the City Limits and are registered to vote at their in-City address.
    • Are 18 years of age or older on the day of the election.
    • Are Citizens of the United States
    • Are not disqualified as a convicted felon.
    • Have a registration that is valid on the day of the election.

Voters meeting these qualifications will generally be allowed to cast a ballot on election day or during early voting.  If you believe you meet all these criteria but are not allowed to cast a ballot by election personnel, ask the Election Judge to explain your right to cast a provisional ballot.

PLEASE REMEMBER:  To be validly registered to vote in any election, your application for voter registration must be received by the voter registrar at least 30 DAYS PRIOR to election day. Registrations received after that time, while valid for future elections, will not enable you to vote at the next election.

Absentee Ballots (Voting by Mail)

In order to cast an absentee ballot (i.e., vote by mail) you must meet the following criteria:

    • Be 65 years or older; or
    • be disabled; or
    • be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
    • be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.
