[ARCHIVED] Interested in Serving on the Castle Hills City Council - Accepting Applications!

The Castle Hills City Council is seeking applicants for an appointment to fill a vacancy on the City Council for Place 1. An application is available at www.castlehills.com and is due to the City Secretary in person at City Hall or electronically to citysecretary@castlehills-tx.gov by 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023. If interested you must be a Castle Hills resident at least 18 years old and a registered voter.

All of Castle Hills’s council positions are of the “at large” variety, meaning there are no geographic boundaries. Council members can reside anywhere within the city limits. Those on the six-member council are expected to attend the one regular meeting each month, along with the possibility of called special meetings.

Prospective candidates should collaborate with teamwork, listening to one another’s points of view, considering citizen input, and weighing available options related to complex issues. Council members set policies that direct city operations, define the duties of city employees and establish the Castle Hills’s annual operating budget.

Interested residents are required to submit a completed City Council application along with a letter of interest. The appointment will last until the next regular city election in May 2024 at which the seat will appear on the ballot.
