Zoning Commission

Purpose

The purpose of the Zoning Commission is to make recommendations to the City Council to promote the public health, safety, morals, or general welfare and protect and preserve places and areas of historical, cultural, or architectural importance and significance.

Meetings are open to the public and posted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

Member Appointment & Terms

The Zoning Commission consists of 5 members and 2 alternates who are citizens of the City. Each member is appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council for a term of 2 years beginning on the 1st day of June of each odd numbered year.

Application for Hearing

If you would like to request a hearing for consideration of rezoning of a property, the owners of record of the property may submit a completed application for rezoning. Follow the link for a Zoning Application.
