Open Records Request

The City of Castle Hills strives to uphold the public's right to access government records.  The Texas Government Code, Chapter 552 provides the right for you to request government information. Requests for public information must be written and submitted (by email, fax, mail, or in person).  The written request must include enough information and detail about the information requested to enable the governmental body to accurately identify and locate the items requested. To ensure proper processing, include a way to contact you.

It is the goal of the City of Castle Hills to respond to information requests in a transparent and timely manner in accordance with the Public Information Act (PIA).  Not all records are available for release.  For specific information regarding statutory requirements of the Public Information Act and and specific exceptions visit the Texas Attorney General's website.

The Castle Hills Police Department maintains the police incident, offense and accident reports. Citizens requesting information may use the Police Records Request Form. The fee for a report involving a single incident, offense or accident report is $8.00.  Multiple incident, offense or accident reports will follow the fee schedules prescribed in Texas Government Code, Chapter 552.
