City of Castle Hills – Phase III Antler Drive Roadway Improvements Project
CASTLE HILLS, Texas – The City of Castle Hills awarded a construction contract for Phase III Antler Drive Roadway Improvements Project at the April 9, 2019 City Council meeting. R.L. Jones was awarded the contract and selected for the Phase III Antler Drive Roadway Improvements. The project was designed by RPS Engineers. The notice to proceed (NTP) will be issued on May 8, 2019, in order for construction to commence on this project.
The scope of the project involves construction of 2,475 feet of roadway, drainage improvements, the installation of new SAWS sanitary sewer and water infrastructure on Antler Drive from Jackson Keller to Buckaroo Drive; which consists of 345 feet of roadway improvements along Honeysuckle Lane from Antler Drive to Lou Jon Circle. Included in this project is storm drain inlets and infrastructure to assist with the surface drainage followed by new roadway installation. The project also includes SAWS improvements consisting of replacement of approximately 3,041 total linear feet of 8” water mains and 2,915 total linear feet of 8” wastewater mains.
The project scope also includes concrete flatwork for curbs, sidewalk and driveways within the City’s right-of-way (ROW) areas. The City of Castle Hills will be working with San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS) to coordinate with R.L. Jones on this project. The City of Castle Hills entered into an interlocal agreement with SAWS for this project to assure the coordination of the City’s road improvements.
QTotal cost is $2,835,571, the City of Castle Hills will fund $1,456,579 and SAWS will fund $1,378,992.
The project has a duration time of 290 days and construction will be in phases. First phase will consist of construction of SAWS Sewer, SAWS water, and drainage infrastructure. The second phase will include the roadway reconstruction and concrete flatwork. R.L. Jones will be starting construction at 603 Antler and will be phasing construction in sections to allow for traffic ingress and egress. Updates to construction schedule will be communicated to residents during construction
