Meet our Public Works Director

Rick has been working for the City since 1993; in the Street Department for three years and Sanitation Department for seven years.

Since 2003, Rick Harada carries the official title of Public Works Director.  However, as is common in small cities like ours, he has other duties.  Rick’s responsibilities include supervising the street and maintenance department, with a crew of three full time, one part-time and two seasonal employees, and sanitation department, with a crew of six full time employees to collect garbage, recycle and brush.

Perhaps one of the most important duties is Animal Control Officer. Some weeks he may spend as little as eight hours on Animal Control, while others can be as much as 25 hours.

Additionally, Rick keeps just about everything on property in tip-top shape.  He is our “Rick of all trades.”

Rick is married and has one daughter.
