Fire Department

The Police and Fire Departments are located at 209 Lemonwood Drive. The City of Castle Hills proudly provides its residents and businesses 24-hour police and fire protection.

Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is provided by the City of San Antonio.

The Castle Hills Fire Department is a full-time, paid department dedicated to the protection of lives and property from the destruction of fire and to assist the public in medical emergencies or other catastrophic events. 20 full-time personnel staff the fire department and the station is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All personnel are Certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection at the Basic Structural Firefighter level or higher, and by the Texas Department of State Health Services at the EMT-Basic level or higher. The City of Castle Hills contracts San Antonio EMS for Advanced Life Support and for transport to area Hospitals. Castle Hills Fire Department responds to all medical emergencies within the City Limits as First Responders to begin initial care and treatment of the sick and injured.

Meet our Fire Chief

Fire Chief

Gerald, or Jerry as he is more commonly called, was born and raised in Kirby, Texas.  He is a 1975 graduate of Judson High School.  Jerry has been involved with the fire service since the age of 17.  He joined the Kirby Volunteer Fire Department while still attending high school.  After a brief stint in sales with Alamo Iron Works, he was hired as a full-time fire fighter with Kirby in August 1977.

Jerry was offered a job with the Castle Hills Fire Department in October of 1979 and has been here ever since. He worked shift work (24 on-48 off) for 19 years.  During that time he obtained an associates degree in fire science from San Antonio College, and also became certified as a fire inspector as well as procuring his Master Firefighter certification.  Jerry was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief in January of 1999.  While serving as Assistant Chief he went on to get his Fire Investigator Certification.  Jerry has been serving as Fire Chief for the City of Castle Hills since June of 2000.  Since that time he has also received his Peace Officer Certification as well as being certified as an Arson Investigator.  In addition to his job as Fire Chief, he also serves as the city’s Emergency Management Coordinator.

Jerry has been married to his wife, Linda, since January of 1980. They have raised 3 children and are looking forward to having grandchildren.
